An Introduction to Cooking

This is a week long practical cookery course (Monday to Friday) aimed at beginners who have a desire to learn how to cook simply, but well and all this takes place in our kitchens in Perthshire.

We start at the beginning, assuming no previous culinary knowledge and guarantee that by the end of the week you will be confidently cooking good food.

On this course these are some of the things we will be covering:

  • Essential knife skills
  • How to make stocks, soups and sauces
  • Bread Making
  • How to make Short Crust Pastry
  • Home Baking
  • Slow One Pot Cooking
  • Roasting Meats
  • How to cook vegetables
  • How to cook fish and sauces to go with fish
  • Quick, easy, but delicious puddings

Each day starts at 10 am and finishes at 4pm.

You will eat everything that you make, so all we ask is that you bring an appetite for food and for learning!

Everything else is provided for you on this course including a folder of all the recipes, hints and tips covered throughout the course .

All you have to do is to bring yourself and a good appetite!
